IT RAINED LAST NIGHT!

Rain breaks the spell,
The scorching
Briefly,
Breaks hard hearts
To hope,
To dancing in
The dampened streets,
To twirling in
The cooling air
And laughing,
Long and loud and light
While shouting,
"Now we'll be alright!"
The breaking through,
The overthrow,
Till scattered clouds
And soft moon-glow.
